Firstly congratulations, you are about to embark on one of the most exciting adventures of your life and start a new chapter with the one you love.
From now until the big day there is undeniably a lot of planning and getting the venue arranged is top priority.
It can be tricky to choose between a marquee in a place dear to your heart or a traditional venue . We’re here to show you that you that whether you choose to the freedom of a blank canvas or incorporating one as part of an existing start, a marquee can give you the opportunity to be a creative as you like.
No working around a traditional venues style, decorations or finishing time restrictions – it’s your wedding, your rules.
Want your marquee in your garden? – yes!
How about on the family farm? – of course!
Outside a hired country house? – we can do that!
… and remember you don’t have to host the whole day in the marquee.
Here are just a few thoughts to kick start your ideas.
A meaningful location
There is something supremely romantic about saying I do in a place that holds a special place in your heart. Whether it is the family farm or overlooking the place you met or proposed, a marquee can create the backdrop to realise that dream. You pick the location (and get the owners agreement if not yours) and we’ll worry about the rest – from furniture to lighting, power to loos, flooring to heating – you have the vision and we’ll make it happen.
Extend your space
If you are thinking of hiring a one of the stunning country homes available across Devon and Cornwall or hosting your wedding at home a marquee can provide much needed extra space.
A marquee can create a separate space for things like the wedding breakfast or a party later on. We can also create a seamless link from the house to the marquee. Read our guide on temporary extensions here
Let’s talk entertainment
It’s no secret weddings often have multi-generational guests and making sure everyone has an enjoyable day can be tricky – not everyone wants to be dancing until the wee small hours. This is where one of our smaller marquees can step in. How about a games tent for the children to play in, packed with games and activities to keep them (and the young at heart) amused all day?
And it’s not just the young! With our marquees starting at just 3m2 you could even design a ‘tea’ tent for those that may prefer a quieter space away from the party – or how about creating your own festival with separate food and entertainment marquees.
Forget limiting numbers
Perhaps the most stressful part of any wedding can be the guest list. Many traditional venues will have a cap on the number of people – but with a marquee there are no limits! All our marquees are modular, so no slimming down guest lists, or limiting numbers. As long as there is space our marquees can grow and grow and grow to accommodate every guest in comfort. They can even reduce in size should numbers drop.
Let the adventure begin…
This is just the start; we are simply packed with ideas from over 30 years’ experience to create your wedding of your dreams.
And don’t be sad if the proposal didn’t happen or you thinking of proposing, Valentine’s Day and the month of love is just around the corner, your time will come.
